7 Things I Can't Live Without

There are a lot of things people want or need in this world. And while I am positive I could physically live without most of the things on this list, my quality of life would, well, suck. That being said, I'd like to list the seven things I cannot live without.

1. Lucy. I cannot live without the most important part of my life. I know, someone, somewhere, is thinking "is she serious??" And the answer is yes, I am very serious. For those who don't know, Lucy is my (almost) 4 year old cat. She's been in my life since she was about 3 weeks old and she is the best part about my life. I love her dearly.
She was so needy for attention she literally turned off my computer...brat
2. My phone/laptop. I just upgraded from an iPhone 5S that I bought sim-free in February 2014. I got it with my taxes and because it was sim-free it was a pretty big splurge. But I don't regret the choice. I loved my phone. It has had no problems, despite it's age (okay, so it's had some minor problems...) and the biggest reason I saved to upgrade is because I want the new features (hello gorgeous camera and 4K video! Plus 3D touch!) of the 6S and I also needed more space. So I really splurged this time on a 6S Plus with 128GB of memory. I've had iPhones since 2009 and have tried several Androids. I'm not a fan. I also have a MacBook Pro from 2014 that I got through school. I first used Mac in the eighth grade and fell in love. I have hated Windows ever since. This is my second MacBook Pro, the first died tragically in an accident caused by my then 12 year old niece. She is so lucky I love her. But the phone and computer sync seamlessly and I've never had a problem with either.

3. Music. Music is very important to me. I can listen to just about anything, with only a few exceptions (I'm looking at you BeyoncĂ©.) And like I said in this post, it's one of the best ways for me to de-stress. I'm almost positive that you could leave any song or artist in the comments and I'll either already like them or like them when I check them out. In fact, I encourage you to leave me some new music....

4. Books. Ah, books. I don't care if they're physical, digital, hard or soft. I. Love. Books. I love to read, and getting lost in an amazing book is one of my favorite things to do. I have a fairly large collection of books, mostly e-books now due to space issues. I've been reading since I was about five or six and have been reading Stephen King and his ilk since before I left elementary school. I could give you a list of my favorite books but it would be so long it would need a post of its' own. Amanda just picked this up for me. I'm reading an ebook on my phone right now, but I can't wait to start this one.

5. Personal space. I am an introvert for the most part. I am much more comfortable sitting quietly with a pad and pen than I am in front of a camera. Which is made obvious when you compare this blog to my (failed?) YouTube channel. But also, I would much rather stay in with Lucy than go out to a party or even just drinks. I am surrounded by people all day at work, I need time at home, alone, to unwind.

6. Sleep! Of which I am lacking severely as of late. Working seven days a week and waking up before dawn has taken it's toll on my sleep schedule. Which is probably another reason I don't go out much.

7. Food. I've recently begun to realize the full extent of my broken relationship with food. I've known it's not been a good relationship for a while now. And I have been trying to fix it. But since doing my No Spend Challenge I've realized just how broken it is. So I'm implementing some things to repair that relationship. That said, I know I can't just stop eating. I would literally (eventually) die without eating. So I'm not going to starve myself. And this is actually the hardest part. Figuring out how to eat healthily. Wish me luck, I'm sure gonna need it!

Are some of these superfluous? Of course they are. I could physically survive without Lucy (please don't even think it though!) or books, music etc. But they are still important to me. I cannot imagine my life without them.

What are some things you just can't live without? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. I agree with you on the phone/laptop and personal space front for sure!

    1. Haha, it feels so awkward admitting I can't live without my devices but it's true.
