A Poem Of Sorts

I was looking through my Google drive and spotted this. It's almost a year old. But it's still completely true.

Depression isn’t just a word

It’s a feeling

It’s a state of being

It’s the cold that runs through my blood

It’s the tears in my eyes

It’s the numb

It’s not feeling any pain

It’s not feeling at all

It’s a life

It’s a thing

It’s an idea

It’s not having the words

It’s not wanting to say “yes”

It’s not wanting to say “no”

It’s letting your life slip by

It’s impossible to shake

It’s impossible to cave in to

It’s the tears that just won’t fall

It’s not allowing yourself to feel

It’s not allowing yourself to think

It’s not simple

It’s not easy

It’s not wanting to sleep

It’s not wanting to do anything but sleep

It’s not wanting to move

It’s not wanting to be

It’s not supposed to be this way

Depression is not just a word.

I wrote this last year, I don't know exactly when but it was uploaded to my Google drive on April 24, 2015. It's now April 21, 2016. Not a damn thing has changed.

There's no CTA. I'd love your opinions, I promise, but if you don't want to comment I understand. This is just something I wanted to share.
