Squat Challenge Recap

As of yesterday I completed the 27 day squat challenge*. I increased the number of squats I did by 5 every day, had four rest days (every six days) and squatted 1195 times. It was intense. I told you yesterday to come back today and I'd let you know if I was going to continue the challenge, modify it, or stop altogether. You can read all of my challenge updates right here.

I decided to modify it. I'm not going to keep going higher and higher every day. I might increase the number at some point, but for now I'm going to do 50-75 squats a day. I still seem to be stuck in the mode of only being able to complete 25 at a time, so I'll do 25 when I get up, 25 before I go to bed, and try to squeeze in another 25 at least once during the day.

We'll see how this week goes, I'm not giving myself a definitive goal yet. I want to see if I'm pushing myself too far too fast before I settle on a goal. I'm also not going to update daily, but maybe weekly. I want to incorporate more things into this blog, especially fitness. Right now I'm not sure my fitness level is up there to be able to do much more than I am. But I do know that I'm going to start doing recipes and food tips.

I've learned a lot over the last month and I plan to incorporate what I've learned into my blog, so keep a lookout for that! I feel like for a long time I was kind of floundering, unsure of the direction I wanted to take my blog. I knew I wanted to do updates on my life, but my life is kind of boring. It's one reason I ended up taking time off from blogging, albeit only for a week.

Now that the weather is warming up, I plan to do more outside. I can't wait until Memorial Day when the beaches open up. We have a ton of beaches around here, between ponds and the ocean in Rhode Island. We go to Misquamicut State Beach at least once a year. I can't say we'll go more this year, because I actually don't like the ocean. I always burn and I almost drowned the last time I went to the ocean proper so....
I have a lot of plans this summer, mostly including hitting the beach every weekend after work. I should have a car by Memorial Day so Amanda and I are planning on meeting at one of the local beaches after I get out of work. She might go earlier, but no matter what I'll be there after work.

All I know is I love the beach and can't wait to go swimming!

Have you already started planning for the summer? Can you give me some tips for staying on track and adding more to my daily routine? Or do you think I'm insane for doing 200 squats a day? Let me know in the comments below!

*I finally found the actual challenge post from May 2015 haha
