May Play by Sephora Beauty Box Review

Okay y'all, I'm obsessed. This is the fourth makeup subscription I have now, and the third monthly one. I found out about the Sephora box* on the My Subscription Addiction site (which is fab btw) and signed up. I keep my subscriptions to $10 or under, and this is $10 a month. I gotta stop though!

Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair!™ Deep Conditioning Mask
I've gotten a Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair product from Ipsy but it was such a small sample I haven't tried it yet. I just cut my hair, so maybe there will be enough now. I figure I'll try them both together and see how they work together. I got a 1 oz sample and retail it's 8 oz.
Original Price: $36 (actual value: $4.5)

KORRES Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial
This smells amazing! Amanda doesn't like it because strong floral scents give her a headache, but I love it! It seriously smells like a rose. It's incredible. I wore this overnight and woke up with my face feeling smooth. And I still can't get over the amazing scent! I got a 0.34 oz sample and retail it is 1.34 oz.
Original Price: $48 (actual value: $12.09)

Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine Cologne Absolue Pure Perfume
I wasn't sure about this, to be honest. I've only had two perfume samples and normally it wouldn't be a problem. I just don't want to fall in love with a $120 perfume, ya know? It smells lovely, though. I got a 0.05 oz sample. Retail is anywhere from 0.25 oz to 3.3 oz. I'm quoting the price for the full size, 3.3 oz.
Original Price: $120 (actual value: $1.82)

tarte Tarteist™ Lip Crayon
I love tarte! I'm so glad I got this. It's not a huuuuuge sample, but it's still enough for a few uses. I love the color of it, too. I got a 0.001 oz sample, retail it is 0.01 oz.
Original Price: $18 (actual value: $1.80)

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick
I actually think this is super cute! It's tiny, but that's okay. The box it came in is cute, the color is actually not horrid. And this may just be the designer in me but I adore their logo! We got a 0.05 oz lipstick and retail is 0.15 oz. Not a bad sample size to be honest!
Original Price: $26 (actual value: $8.33)

Origins Maskimizer™ Skin-Optimizing Mask Primer
This came with the spray primer, and two masks. I've heard of Origins and I have wanted to try their charcoal mask for a while now, so I'm glad I have this! You get the Clear Improvement active charcoal mask and the Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask. I used the primer, and I can't say if it did anything. I've never used a mask before like that so I have no clue. I used the charcoal mask and it was actually pretty amazing. I will for sure be buying more. They give you a 0.05 oz spray sample and two 0.1 oz sample masks. The retail sizes are 3.4 oz for the masks, and 3.2 oz for the spray. My pricing is going to be primer, then charcoal mask, then overnight mask.
Original Price: $22; $26 ; $26 (actual value: 34¢ ; 76¢ ; 76¢)

Total Retail: $322; Total Actual Value: $30.40

There are several high end brands that I recognized and I like that. I knew of tarte and Origins before even starting my beauty box subscriptions and heard about Briogeo from Ipsy. I think the value being triple the cost of the box is pretty awesome. I love that I finally got to try out the Origins charcoal mask, because I know I will definitely be buying it now. I like the formula for the Bite lipstick, so I might buy a different color. I can't say that I'll buy anything else from the box, but I'll for sure use the samples!
