Target Beauty Box Review

Guys. I did another one. I bought the Target Beauty Box. It was only $10! But....y'know. Now I have three $10 boxes and a $5 quarterly box from Walmart. I really should stop, but at least I haven't been terribly disappointed yet.

This is what I got in my first ever Target beauty box. I hope you enjoy the review :)

Shea Moisture Fruit Fusion Crème Rinse
This has aloe, as like the third ingredient? So definitely not something I can use, which sucks. Bug gets a hair rinse I guess. It does smell really good, though. I got a 3.2 oz bottle, retail is 10.3 oz.
Original Price: $8.99 (actual value: $2.79)

Yes To Cucumbers 10-Count Facial Wipes
This also has aloe, as the fourth ingredient. I mention which ingredient it is because if it's waaaay down at the bottom I can use it normally. Another one to Bug. I did open the package and it kind of smells funny to me. I got a pack of 10, the trial size which they do sell, and retail is usually 30 count.
Original Price: $5.69 (actual value: $2.99)

Laneige Water Bank Serum
This smells really good. I tried some on my hand and a little seems to go a long way with this one. This does not have aloe, which is great for me. I got a 0.3 oz tube and retail is a 2 oz bottle.
Original Price: $35 (actual value: $5.25)

e.l.f. Lip Kiss Balm
I like the color, but not the formula. It's sticky, felt really minty/tingly on my lips, and tasted funny. It smelled okay, but I wasn't a fan. This was a full size, 0.15 oz item.
Original Price: $2 (actual value: $2)

Pantene Expert Intense Hydration Shampoo
I like this. I've used this before, I love Pantene, and this smells so good. It doesn't have aloe so I can always use it. Definitely a go-to and I should probably keep some on hand if I run out of my regular shampoo. I got a 3.9 oz bottle and retail is a 9.6 oz bottle.
Original Price: $4.99 (actual value: $2.03)

CoTZ Face SPF 40
This is tinted, which annoys me. I'm not a fan of things that are tinted, but I was impressed at how non-orange it made my hand. It blended really well, so there's hope for it. I don't usually use sunscreen, except on my shoulders and even then not always. (I know, dumb, but whatever. I rarely burn, and if I do it fades to a tan.) I'll try the sample, see what I think. I probably won't buy the full size one. I got a 0.35 oz sample and retail is 1.5 oz.
Original Price: $19.99 (actual value: $4.67)

Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Duo
I already have this exact one from Ipsy, that I got in January. I haven't actually used it, but I like the colors. I couldn't find it anywhere online, but I did link their eyeshadow pallet. Unfortunately that makes it hard to calculate it's value and the card that came with the box doesn't list values.
Original Price: $12 (actual value: $1.80)

L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Volume Filler Cream
This smells really good, it goes on smooth and a little goes a long way. I do like this, and will for sure use the entire sample. It's cheap enough that depending on how much I like it I might even buy a full size one when the sample is done. I got a 0.5 oz container and retail is 1.7 oz.
Original Price: $20.49 (actual value: $6.03)

Soap & Glory Righteous Butter Body Butter
This had aloe, but it was one of the last ingredients. I actually liked it, the smells was pretty good, a little went a long way, too. I was able to use the small sample packet on my arms and both legs. I'm a big woman, I have a lot of arm and leg, and it did a good job covering them. And even one day later my arms are still nice and smooth. (I just got a pedicure, so my legs are of course smooth, lol) Amanda didn't like the scent, and right now that is something I have to consider. If I wear something too overpowering that gives her a headache, it causes problems for both of us. I would probably buy this down the line, when I'm on my own and don't have to worry about her sensitivities. I got a 0.33 oz sample packet and retail is a 10.1 oz container.
Original Price: $15.19 (actual value: 50¢)

S. W. Basics Exfoliant
I haven't tried this yet. It seems a bit awkward, because it's a powder that you have to wet yourself. But I'll try it. It only has three ingredients, organic oat flower, organic almond flower, and sea salt. It's also vegan, which is a huge plus. I got a very small packet that doesn't have the size listed. It looks to be about 0.17 oz (or a teaspoon) and it retails in a 3 oz (glass?) bottle. Also, I just ordered a mini size for $9.20 and it ships free which is amazing.
Original Price: $24.49 (actual value: $1.39)

L’Oréal Paris True Match Cushion
So the sample was horrible. It was my color, shockingly, but it was super awkward. I've watched the video on Targets website on how to apply it, and it actually looks a lot easier with the full size. So I went from hating it to actually liking it. I got a tiny little sample, maybe 0.01 oz? Retail is 0.51 oz and the applicator has a strap to make it easier.
Original Price: $14.99 (actual value: 29¢)

Total Retail: $163.82; Total Actual Value: $27.71

The overall value of the box wasn't that bad. If I had a way of asking them to exclude anything with a lot of aloe, and if it came with bigger samples, it would have been better. I can't use two of the eleven products, and another three of them are single use only. I would say that the value being almost triple the cost is pretty good. I'm liking this box, and will get the next one if I catch it in time.
