September 2017 Boxycharm Review

I just got my first Boxycharm and I am wondering why I didn't get this sooner! I've been following the spoilers and reviews for Boxycharm for over a year on MySubscriptionAddiction and have seen the value. I just had a rule that my subscriptions had to be $10 a month or less. But I couldn't resist anymore, and took the plunge. Here's what I got!

Boxycharm is a $21 a month beauty subscription box that includes 5-6 full and deluxe sized samples, mostly of high end brands. The value typically hovers around $100, and in the last year I don't think I've seen a single box below $100 in retail value.

The items:

Studiomakeup Luminous Loose Blush - $35
According to the card that came with the box, this has a retail value of $35. The problem? I can't find this online anywhere! That link brings you to the Studiomakeup website and the "face" category, but this blush isn't on there.

That said, I like the blush. It's a very pretty color, and doesn't wipe away with water very easily. (Trust me, I swatched it on my hand and can't get it off yet. I haven't tried anything but water because I'm at work, but it isn't budging.)

Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask - $18
The card says this is worth $20, but it's a 2oz tube. The 1oz tub is $9 on Sephora, so two of those would be $18. I've had this before, albeit in a much smaller sample size. I like it, and am glad to have more. It doesn't make my hair feel greasy or gross and it smells pretty good.

Colourpop Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick in Mess Around - $6
I love Colourpop! I've gotten a couple of their liquid lips just on my own, and I've gotten some from previous beauty boxes. I have three Ultra Satins, at least one Ultra Matte (pretty sure I have Times Square) and the original four Ultra Metallics, which I love! That's not counting eyeshadows, lippie stix and their sculpting stix which they discontinued. This color is a light greige, and it's a little darker than I normally go. But it's still a nude-ish color.

bareMinerals Perfecting Face Brush - $28
When I saw the spoilers, this was the brush I wanted! It's a foundation brush with a little spot in the center to hold liquid foundation. I haven't tried it with my foundation yet, but it's so soft! And I love that it comes with a little cone to help hold it's shape and prevent it from getting squashed.

MAC Cosmetics Eyebrow Pencil in Spiked - $18
I was so excited to see this! I've gotten more into filling in my brows lately, so a brow product is nice. But y'all. It's MAC! I've never had a MAC product and to get it in a beauty box is very rare! It's a good color for me, the only downfall is that it's a bit hard. I'm not sure how that will effect the way it goes on, because I've already don'e my brows today, but we'll see. I'm just stoked to have a MAC product!

PUR Cosmetics Soiree Diaries Eyeshadow Palette - $34
This is my favorite thing in the box! I've always been a value shopper and have never bought a full size palette until recently. This is only my second full size, good brand palette. I love the color selection, and the fact that it has a mirror! I was recently complimented on my eyeshadow, so I feel like I'm getting better at it, and with this palette I'm sure I can get even better! It's mostly nudes, and the bottom four are shimmers with the top eight being matte. I used to go to the sparkly shimmers so I have few mattes. I'm really glad to have this!

I was going to swatch these, but honestly I don't have anything to clean myself up with and I'm at work. I have decided to swatch the brow pencil because that's the only one that I can't link you to a swatch of. Colourpop has them on their website, and you can see the full palette and the blush here at the MySubscriptionAddiction review of this box.

The total retail value for these items was an astonishing $139! I've never had that great of a value from a subscription box. I'm excited that I'll continue to get such a great value from a $21 subscription box.
